Fall is officially here! The leaves are changing in gorgeous shades of yellow, orange, and red, football is in full swing, and pumpkin-flavored everything has hit the stores. Well, here at VetMeasure we don’t want your dog to miss out on the festivities. Here is one of our favorite fall dog treat recipes, inspired by THIS recipe, from AllRecipes.

Ingredients:
2 ½ Cups Whole Wheat Flour
2 Eggs
½ Fresh Puree or Canned Pumpkin
2 Tablespoons Creamy Peanut
¼ Teaspoon Salt
½ Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon

Note: While cinnamon is safe for dogs, large quantities can lead to an upset stomach.

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and whisk together. Water may need to be added, but the dough should remain stiff.
Roll the dough so it is ½ inch thick.
Cut the dough into desired shapes with cookie cutters or a knife.
Bake for 40 minutes, the treats should be hard.
Enjoy!

While these treats are safe for your dog, not all human-food is intended to be enjoyed by your four-legged friend. With Halloween and other holidays approaching, many dangerous foods may be lurking in your house. Chocolate, macadamia nuts, salty snacks, and yeast dough can cause serious problems for your dog.
